Our Program - Overview
We believe that through innovative thinking, careful planning, hard work and by the will and blessings of Allah (swt), Mercy Mission can deliver beneficial projects that address a wide range of needs within the community. To ensure that Mercy Mission engages with all segments of the community, we have segmented society into the following broad portfolios or building blocks:
- Family
- Community
- Education
- Media and Government
- Business and Professionals
The five Portfolio categories represent the framework through which community needs are assessed and appropriate resources are allocated. All Mercy Mission projects will address at least one of these portfolios, and in many cases, projects will address more than one portfolio. Flexibility and the willingness to adopt new ways of thinking and working will be hallmarks of anything that Mercy Mission does.
We believe that our program of projects will require active engagement with various Muslim and non-Muslim organisations, including faith-based organisations and places of worship, community-based groups, health and educational institutions, media and government organisations, and commercial enterprises. Importantly, Mercy Mission will communicate with, and require the support of, concerned individuals of all backgrounds and viewpoints.
Mercy Mission welcomes project ideas from any section of the community. The only qualification is that the overriding objective of the proposed project is to benefit, in some meaningful way, the Australian Muslim community, and the broader Australian society.
In order for a project idea to be properly evaluated, the owner of the project idea will need to make a simple submission which outlines the objectives and scope of the project, the potential benefits, and the estimated funding and resources required.
